CoQ10 200 is a three-month food supplement in a vegetarian capsule shell. The formula contains coenzyme Q10 in ubiquinol form, alongside vitamin E, selenium, vitamin B2 and magnesium. This page sets out exactly what is in each capsule, in what form, and at what quantity, along with information about the capsule shell itself, allergen status, and how the ingredients are sourced and tested before they reach a finished pack.

*NRV = Nutrient Reference Value under EU Regulation (EC) No 1169/2011 as retained in UK law. Daily dose = 1 capsule. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Nutrient function claims are made in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006 as retained in UK law. Claims refer to individual nutrients, not CoQ10 200 as a whole.

Why these nutrients were chosen

Coenzyme Q10 is the largest single ingredient by weight in each capsule, included in its ubiquinol form, which is the reduced state of the molecule. We chose to pair it with three nutrients that carry authorised functions under retained UK nutrition regulation: vitamin E, selenium and vitamin B2, each included at 100% of the Nutrient Reference Value. Magnesium is included at a lower proportion of the NRV, reflecting a supporting role in the formulation rather than being the primary nutrient.

We deliberately kept the ingredient list short. Rather than combining a long list of nutrients at low doses to make a label look impressive, CoQ10 200 focuses on a small number of ingredients at clearly stated quantities, so the dosage table above tells the whole story rather than only part of it.

The capsule shell

Each CoQ10 200 capsule uses an HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) vegetarian capsule shell rather than a gelatine-based one, meaning the product is suitable for vegetarians. The shell itself contains no added sugar and is designed to dissolve reliably in the digestive system after swallowing with water. We do not recommend opening or chewing the capsule, since the shell is formulated to release its contents at the appropriate point after ingestion, not before.

Shell type

HPMC vegetarian capsule, free from gelatine and suitable for vegetarian diets.

Added sugar

No added sugar is used in either the capsule shell or the internal fill.

Pack format

Ninety capsules per pack, providing a three-month supply at the stated daily dose of one capsule.

Allergen information

We take allergen labelling seriously, and the table below summarises the status of common allergens in relation to CoQ10 200. If you have a specific allergy or intolerance not listed here, we recommend checking the full ingredient list on the physical packaging before use, and speaking to a healthcare professional if you are uncertain.

GelatineNot used; capsule shell is HPMC-based
DairyNot used in this formulation
SoyNot used in this formulation

Manufactured in a facility that follows standard allergen control procedures. If you have a severe allergy, please check the physical product packaging, which is updated in line with any formulation changes.

Sourcing and testing

The coenzyme Q10 used in CoQ10 200 is sourced from suppliers who provide batch-level documentation confirming identity and purity of the ubiquinol form. Vitamin E, selenium, vitamin B2 and magnesium are sourced as standard food-grade nutrient forms widely used across the UK supplement industry. Finished batches are checked before release to confirm that capsule weight and fill consistency fall within expected tolerances, and records are retained so that any batch can be traced back to its ingredient sourcing if a query ever arises.

"We would rather list five ingredients clearly than fifteen ingredients vaguely. If a quantity isn't worth stating properly, we don't think it's worth including." — Balmevo product development team

Ingredient questions we are asked most

These are the questions our customer service team hears most often about the CoQ10 200 formulation specifically, separate from the general daily-use questions covered on our How to Use page.

  1. Is ubiquinol different from ubiquinone? Yes, ubiquinol is the reduced form of coenzyme Q10, while ubiquinone is the oxidised form. CoQ10 200 uses the ubiquinol form specifically, as stated in the dosage table above.
  2. Why is coenzyme Q10 shown with no % NRV? There is currently no official Nutrient Reference Value established for coenzyme Q10 under retained UK nutrition regulation, so none is shown, which is standard practice across the supplement industry.
  3. Is the capsule suitable for vegans? The HPMC shell itself is generally considered suitable for vegans, though if you follow a strict vegan diet we recommend checking the physical packaging for the most current formulation details.
  4. Can the formulation change over time? We review the formulation periodically. Any change would be reflected in an updated ingredient table on this page and on the physical pack.
